Best fuel economy and gas saving tips
With gas prices skyrocketing and some expecting further increases through the summer, everyone is paying (no pun intended) a lot more attention to their vehicle’s fuel economy. If you are considering a new or used vehicle you may want to check out the July 2008 issue of Consumer Reports. In the issue they examine recently tested new cars to find those with the best fuel economy for the money. The list is based on overall miles-per-gallon, purchase price, and owner-cost. In addition, they list affordable used cars with the best fuel economy. Also, in the issue are some other tips about how gas-saving gadgets do NOT work, how paying for premium gas is rarely worthwhile, and other fuel saving techniques. See CR’s Guide to driving green for more. Edmunds.com has a similar green car guide with fuel efficient vehicles and tips for improving gas mileage.
